Before & After
The Proverbial Before & After Pics
You know you were looking for it. This is the first thing you wanted to see when you got here. Just what DID this “Gastric Bypass Barbie” look like before she entered the Bariatric After Life™? Well, I don’t blame you, I mean arguably, the most important part of any motivational blog is the BEFORE and AFTER shots. It’s the benchmark –the hallmark — of a great site. The more ghastly the “befores” and the more stunning the “afters” — the better!
Well, I can tell you that my “befores” are hideous, and my “afters” are pretty darned fun (if that counts for anything).
But, even more important than those After PICTURES is the After LIFE. That’s what I call “after the after” — the thing that happens when you stop being a “before” and you start looking like those other people in the “after.” It’s the place you dreamt of when you poured over hundreds of “befores” and “afters” on the web. You envisioned yourself smiling back from the page…standing in your former fat pants. You saw yourself wearing teeny clothes, having one chin, and donning a swimsuit again. You saw yourself living THE BARIATRIC AFTER LIFE™.
That’s where I am now, and that’s what this site is dedicated to: Living an Honest, Fulfilling, Joy-Filled, Healthy Bariatric After Life™.
Okay, so I have about a bajillion times more pictures of myself in the past 2 years than I have of my entire life before that. Let’s just say, I’m making up for lost time…
Before

Left to Right:
(1) The day we bought our daughter’s first car (about 316 pounds)
(2) Me after losing some weight (about 275)
(3) Juan & Me going to a 60th Anniversary Party (probably about 300).
Me in the Bariatric After Life™

Standing in one leg of my fat jeans. Those were a size 28, though I wore 30’s at one point.
Party in My Pants
You know what they say, “Go small or go home.” I was feeling kinda lonely in my fat jeans, so I invited my DH to join me.

If you were inspired (or even intrigued) by these photos, I invite you to read further (and come back regularly). I’m brutally honest here — no holds barred –– But, if you give it chance, I’m pretty sure you’ll get a few chuckles and maybe shed a few tears; but mostly, I think you’ll have a really good time.
Thanks for stopping by!
